The Secret behind Arte Espina designs...

Sabine Borger, Head of the AE-Design Department “All our designers have a passion for Interior Design and Fashion. Here is where the creative design process starts. We find inspiration for designs in the environment: nature, architecture, art, fashion and social- and cultural issues are the main sources for our style. Furthermore, we work closely together with an International trend watch agency in Paris. We comprise new trends and ideas with influences from around the world. After that we create mood boards and colour palettes defining our new trend and themes. Then our designers let their creativity shine: designs in the well-known Arte Espina handwriting”.

Trends 2008

The world has a different future today. After all those years, we re-discovered our own history. We appreciate old, values, traditions, rituals and cherish them as treasures now. We dive into the past looking for our roots, something to hold on as we are looking for a balance in our lives. This is exactly how we feel and what happens in interior fashion too: clear is that for 2008 nothing is obvious, we will see echoes of all styles, inspired by nature, culture and history.

Espirelle

Espirelle is a special acrylic branded yarn of guaranteed consistent quality developed for Arte Espina. Although difficult to distinguish with the naked eye there are large quality differences between different acrylic yarns. Espirelle is a thermo-fixed two-ply spun at high revolutions. It has excellent resilience and a natural “wool look.” Espirelle distinguishes itself by a large restorative capacity and easy maintenance. This makes Arte Espina carpets easy to clean; up to 90% of stains can be removed with water alone.

TuV Certificate

The German Textile and Flooring Institute (TFI) in Aachen specialises in the quality inspection of carpets. For well over 40 years, this independent institute has researched the different aspects of quality.

Arte Espina carpets are supplied with a TuV/TFI certification: an assurance for a healthy living atmosphere and the high quality of materials used. This ceritficate not only guarantees the quality of the carpets, but also that they meet all standards in the field of harmful products, emissions and odour. The certification report includes the level of use, along with a recommended area and intensityof use for whih the carpet is suited.

The comfort and quality of the carpets are defined by the pile height and density of the yarns. The comfort level is designating ranging from one to five stars. The number of stars combined with the use classification provides a good indication of the price/quality ratio of the carpet. A unique TuvdotCOM number guarantees the control and certification of the carpets. This unique number offers you the opportunity to request test data via the internet.

Arte Espina rugs are suitable for regular domestic use. The diversity of designs contains classic, contemporary and trend-orientated themes. Each rug is like a jewel resulting in a beautiful accessory for every kind of ambience in all rooms of your house.

Cleaning and Maintenance

To keep your Arte Espina rug in top condition, please note the following maintenance instructions:

  • Regular vacuum cleaning starting form the first day, without rotating brushes

For the first few weeks, our rugs are prone to fluffing, which is a natural ocurrence and will not persist long-term. Where people live and work, spots and stains cannot always be avoided. Thanks to the unique properties of Arte Espina’s Espirelle acrylic yarn, you can easily remove 90% of all spots and stains using water only:

  • Immediately put an absorbing cloth on the stain (to absorb the stain)
  • Rinse the rug with lukewarm water; don’t rub
  • Let it dry properly, if necessary using a blow dryer

If by any chance this doesn’t work we recommend James, the specialist when it comes to cleaning and taking care of carpets and rugs.

Fundamentally all the Arte Espina rugs are washable at 30°C using a rug-washing machine. If you clean your rug regularly and follow the maintenance instructions your rug will retain its qulaity appearance for a long time.

Different Sizes/Disclaimer

Nearly all the carpets in the Arte Espina collection are available in different dimensions. You can find the exact measurements per design on this website. Be aware that the designs in sizes smaller then 120 x 180cm can deviate because of simplifications. Deviations up to 5% of the sizes are possible. For more information please contact us.
